Our client is a specialty pharmaceutical company with niche drug delivery technologies and products for the treatment of respiratory, allergy, dermatological, topical and cardiovascular conditions. Focusing on both prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical products, they provide contract manufacturing and development services to the international healthcare market, including a number of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Officer to join their team and to contribute to the success within the Solid Dose Department’s Packaging Work Area at the Ashton site.

Your main responsibility will be to provide an integrated technical support service initially to the packaging area in respect of documentation, validation, project management support and production problem solving. The role holder will be expected to be a key member of the new product/equipment introduction teams. You will carry out investigations into process deviations and write up responses as required for customer complaints. You will be involved in the validation of process and equipment and in preparing and reviewing production documentation. You will be required to provide support for all the Continuous Improvement programmes and you may be required to assist with Project Management as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. You will assist with training and monitoring of compliance and facilitate technical training courses as and when required.

The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a scientific or engineering subject. Any previous experience with packaging in a manufacturing environment preferably within the pharmaceutical or FMCG industries would be advantageous. Candidates must also have a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. Candidates will have a working knowledge of production areas and an understanding of the production work flow. Knowledge of product development, cGMP, and validation including documentation and regulatory requirements is also necessary for this position.
