Our client currently have a vacancy within the Technical Department at their Bradford site for a graduate Technical Support Engineer, preferably with one to two yearsÆ relevant work experience, either as part of a degree course or one or two yearÆs post graduate experience.
The successful candidates key role is to perform necessary tasks to ensure optimal conditions for the running of the Cytec plant in a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week production environment. You will work alternating shifts with another experienced engineer. The shifts consist of 12 hour days, 3 days on, 3 days off to maintain the required technical support. Therefore flexibility is essential.
Ideally the successful candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. An alternative relevant scientific qualification will be considered for candidates who have experience in a similar role. You will need to demonstrate planning and organisation skills in managing both your own time and be able to manage on-going projects in a multi-tasking, complex work setting. It will be expected that you will already have the necessary IT and communications skills to help you.
Self-confidence is a must, as you will be expected to resolve problems and take decisions following relevant protocols applicable to the position. You should also show commitment to the business and keep focused on the overall business objectives. The ability to demonstrate positive teamwork and interpersonal skills would be extremely beneficial, as you will be working closely with Production, Craftspeople and other Technical staff.
