Food and Drink Hub Scotland has a great opportunity for a graduate to co-ordinate the Supply Chain relationship between the company, its customers and specified Food Retailers based in Scotland and the UK. The graduate will split working hours in the company office and in the specified Retailers' offices. This is a 12 month full time placement with a strong possibility of converting to a permanent role, based in Cumbernauld.
Food and Drink Hub (Scotland) Limited are looking for a graduate to enhance relationships with clients and retailers, provide improved availability at retail end, seek efficiencies for our business and the producers we support, and pursue increased sales for all parties.
It is intended that by developing this type of relationship it will aid the development of mutual understanding and empathy. Enabling retailers to fully appreciate the practicality of getting produce from smaller Scottish producers of Food and Drink (our clients) onto the shelves of their Supermarkets and Stores.
The graduate will co-ordinate the supply chain relationship between the company and already identified Retail customers based in Scotland and UK. To do this, the graduate will work in the company office and also in the offices of the Retailers to bridge the knowledge gap between the organisations including those of our clients.
The graduate will work partly within the different retailers' in various departments but primarily in Buying, Logistics and Finance, to build relationships and understand their business and processes. The graduate will also impart knowledge about our business and processes to these retailers so they gain a better understanding of what we do, our processes and also that of our customers, who are major producers of varying sizes. Travel expenses to the Retailers' offices will be covered.
Extensive internal training and guidance will be provided.
Upon completion of the placement, there is a strong possibility of offering the graduate a permanent employment.
Skills / Experience
· Keen interest/knowledge in quality food
· Great interpersonal skills to build relationships
· Good communication skills (written and verbal)
· An understanding of the retail business
· Driving license
· A degree in Business, Food related or other relevant.
· Knowledge or at least, a real interest in Food.
The graduate will work closely with experts in the retail and food industry.
