Job Description

The Supply Chain Institute (SCI) has been established to enable Hub South West to work in conjunction with local construction supply chain. The partnership will assist companies to prepare for entry into the Territory Supply Network and provide a planned programme of Hub South West focused seminars and workshops, including business to business events to be held across the Territory. A key objective of SCI is to ensure that territory based companies are well placed to bid successfully for contracts emanating from Hub South West projects.

An excellent graduate opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Assistant, to based at Perceton House, Irvine. While the post will be largely office based, there will be some need for daily travel within the Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway area.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support for the Supply Chain Institute and Skills Academy established to deliver the Community Benefits KPIs as part of the Hub South West construction delivery programme (see www.hubsouthwestscotland.co.uk).

The Skills Academy project (SA) has been set up to provide opportunities for work experience, job placements, apprenticeships and to provide support, training and opportunities for those seeking to get into work or return to work. It will ensure that people from local communities have access to appropriate training and qualifications. It supports a range of training options provided in different environments including onsite purpose-built training centres, e-learning and college based tuition.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first class administrative support to help the delivery of the Skills Academy and Supply Chain institute, which includes maintenance of the Territory Supply Network Database and status of registered organisations
  • Maintain the Skills Academy database for company records in respect to training status/activity
  • Maintain database for individual training and apprenticeship records within Hub South West
  • Responsibility for the coordination of Meet the Buyer and other Hub promotional events
  • Coordinate the Supply Chain Institute yearly programme of events including trainers, training materials, venue bookings,catering and evaluation.

 

Skills/Experience

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • First class communication and interpersonal skills
  • Event management experience
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience of using social media, such as, WordPress, LinkedIn, Twitter, Flick'r and Survey Monkey

Desirable:

  • Work with databases and database interrogation
  • Excellent negotiation skills

 

Qualifications

Degree in Business, Construction, Event Management or equivalent.
