Supply Chain and Logistics trainee

Two year programme based on a series of placements whilst studying towards an internationally recognised qualification. Subject areas include IT, logistics, inventory management, supply chain, international business, finance, marketing. On completion trainees take on a variety of senior positions depending on individual skills. Applicants need a degree in any discipline, should enjoy working in a team, be flexible, adaptable and prepared to undertake considerable home study.
Following is a list of placements together with the academic syllabus:
Year 1 - 1 week induction, 6 months air export/import operations, 6 months sea export/import operations
Year 2 - 4 months overland, 3 months contract logistics, warehousing operations, UK distribution, 2 months finance & controlling, sales & bought ledger, management accounts, 2 months sales & marketing and management information services, 1 month information technology.
Year 1 - Introductory Certificate, 3 core modules: Introduction to Logistics, Information & Communication Tech; Movement of Goods & People, and 2 optional modules: Production, Planning & Inventory Management, Warehousing.
Year 2 - Diploma - 1 core module: Management Skills, 1 elective unit: Supply Chain, and 2 optional units: Production, Warehousing, Inventory, International Trade & Freight, Road Freight
