Higgs & Sons has
joined forces with Aston University on this KTP project to change established
practices and processes both within a professional services organisation and
with its clients. The project will design, deliver and evaluate a workforce
intelligence planning system for Higgs within their wider enterprise.
You will gain an
understanding of the issues involved in the transition of a highly successful
and forward thinking legal practice that is experiencing rapid growth to one
using innovative approaches to address future market challenges.
The project will
also provide you with a detailed understanding of inter-organisational
relationships within an organisation’s wider enterprise and the impact of these
on commercial opportunity.
You will develop a
range of skills and experiences, including:

confidence
and fluency in presenting to and interacting with senior members of a
professional services organisation and their clients
·
empathy
and facilitation skills in challenging human resource related issues
·
strategic
human resource management
·
implementation
of workforce intelligence planning models
·
organisational
change management
We require a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant
area such as Management Studies, Human Resource Management or Operations
Management.
You will be a confident, numerate,
self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate
effectively at all levels verbally and in writing. Ability to understand
academic constructs and convey them in layman’s language is essential as are,
credibility, enthusiasm and strong negotiation and influencing skills to win
the hearts and minds of project stakeholders. We seek someone who can empathise
in changing and challenging environments.
You should ideally have knowledge of
workforce intelligence planning and experience in obtaining and analysing
quantitative and qualitative research information.
In addition to a generous individual training
budget, you will have the opportunity to join an appropriate professional
organisation such as the CIPD or CMI.
The experience gained on this project will
give you invaluable experience for career opportunities in human resource
management and/or the professional services sector.
You will be employed by Aston University but
will be based at the company Higgs & Sons in Brierley Hill.
