Based in Ayr this is a 12 month placement with strong probability of converting to a permanent position.

The effective use of social and participatory media is increasingly seen as a key requirement in 21st Century business. Social media (such as blogs, social networks and Twitter) provide new opportunities for businesses to source information, network, collaborate, and disseminate research.

It is also something that CKD Galbraith recognises as essential in their overall marketing strategy. Use of social media over the last 12 months is proving to be effective and is starting to deliver results and positive feedback proves it is now time to turn our social media efforts into a more coherent and scalable marketing tool. We want you to help us develop our social media strategy and assist us make informed approaches to using social media.

Success will be determined in the long term by the results achieved through increased revenues generated across CKD Galbraith’s 7 business streams (Residential Sales, Lettings, Commercial, Building Surveying, Renewable Energy, Forestry, Rural) and for Sporting Lets and Cottages & Castles.

Role Description

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in the review, strategy and overhaul of the firm’s social media, help us develop informed and critical approaches to using social media, co-ordinate internal processes and procedures for delivery of social media content. Your role will be to create the materials required to communicate what we offer, the way we work and the benefits of working with us. We intend to increase the quality and quantity of communication through social media so the expectation is that you will grow along with our social media.

Specific tasks for CKD Galbraith, Cottages & Castles and Sporting Lets will include:

·         Creating the detailed documentation that explains to our staff how to use social media and providing training

·         Identifying new social media sites and trends and creating marketing opportunities from it

·         Writing how to guides for our staff

·         Blogging

·         Researching the effectiveness of social media and monitoring results.

·         Degree in Social Media/Marketing/PR or other relevant discipline.


Social Media marketers in our sector are becoming essential in the marketing mix and one of the biggest areas of online marketing is using social media and journalism skills for companies. So you can expect to take your existing skill set, add in a bit of marketing knowledge from us and you will be well on your way to building yourself a successful career and hopefully stay with us after 12 months.

We are also willing to support external training if you wish and you will have the opportunity to receive 3 day external training with the Graduate Placement Programme.
