Our Client specialises in the application of software solutions to scientific, technical and engineering problems for European and US industries. Their customers include AstraZeneca, Balfour Beatty, GlaxoSmithKline and Unilever. They are well established and have built long-term relationships with organisations at the leading edge of the scientific and engineering world.
You will be working closely with the branch manager to help generate new business opportunities. You will be qualifying prospects for their services, and building relationships with the aim of making appointments for the branch manager. The role is internally based and you will be working within a team of sales executives. You will also be collecting information to assist the marketing department.
Extensive training is provided through æInvestors in People program, however, this role requires a 2:1 classification in a scientific/numerate degree background and 24 UCAS points. Strong numerical skills are critical when explaining the benefits of their services to prospective clients. Relevant degree backgrounds would be Engineering - Electronic, Chemical, Software or Scientific - Biotechnology, Chemistry or a highly numerate degree - Mathematics. An understanding of the IT applications in business and some sales experience would be beneficial but not essential.
