Armajaro is a major supplier of cocoa beans and coffee beans to the world’s leading chocolate manufacturers and coffee roasters and also distributes sugar within Africa.
Our Group Research team was established in 2006 to provide research and forecasting services to our commodity divisions. A core element in the department’s activities is the supply of cocoa and coffee crop forecasts for those major producing countries where Armajaro has sourcing operations on the ground.
The appointee will be expected to assist in the department’s routine activities, which include maintenance of statistical databases of production, consumption, stocks and prices, data analysis, preparing internal and external reports and presentations.
The appointee will be required to spend at least 3 months in a producing origin country followed by short term visits to other countries.
Applicants should have a good honours degree or post-graduate qualification (or equivalent) in an appropriate science (e.g. crop science, agriculture, agronomy, plant protection, plant biology Strong spreadsheet and statistical analysis skills are also required as well as good report writing skills. A working knowledge of a foreign language (ideally Spanish) is desirable but not essential. Some experience of travelling in developing countries would also be of benefit.
