Recycled Renewables Ltd based in Lochgilphead, are recruiting for a Systems Engineer for a 6 month placement. The business intends on offering a new service to remote wind farm clients in order to manage their onsite parts inventory. To do this, a system is required (preferably using smartphone technology) that will allow onsite booking of parts (by scanning barcode) onto a central database (can be cloud based).
This role will involve evaluating available systems and modifying if necessary, or designing a new custom made system.

Recycled Renewables Ltd based in Lochgilphead, are recruiting for a Systems Engineer for a 6 month placement. The business intends on offering a new service to remote wind farm clients in order to manage their onsite parts inventory. To do this, a system is required (preferably using smartphone technology) that will allow onsite booking of parts (by scanning barcode) onto a central database (can be cloud based).
This role will involve evaluating available systems and modifying if necessary, or designing a new custom made system by:
• Research available systems, based on smartphone app technology, barcodes and potentially cloud based
• Evaluate available systems for suitability, feasability and cost
• Present best system to Managing Director
• Modify selected system as applicable or create new custom made system
• Design implementation and training plan and manuals
• Install trial system in Cornwall
• Roll Out across all sites and staff training
As part of the TalentScotland Graduate Placement Programme in the Highlands and Islands, the candidate will benefit from support from a team within Highlands and Islands Enterprise and also access training focussed on employability and business skills, including a five day residential course.
This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
Skills / Experience
Essential:
• Degree in relevant discipline
• Knowledge of IT systems,
• Knowledge of smartphone apps,
• Knowledge of database and cloud technology
• Driving licence
• Imaginative and creative personality
• Adaptable and quick to learn
• Good sense of humour
• Able to take initiative without constant supervision
Desirable:
• Knowledge of barcoding
