Do you know the rules of engagement?
The RAF needs qualified barristers and solicitors to tackle the many – and often unique – legal challenges which the Service presents.
From advising in criminal cases to conducting prosecutions at military court martials, you’ll provide advice on a much more varied scale than your civilian counterparts. Your work could take you all over the world, from highly sought after United Nations positions to the halls of the US Pentagon.
You’ll provide specialist legal advice to Ministry of Defence (MOD) departments, station commanders and the RAF Police. Your brief could include Air Force law, the law of armed conflict, new legislation or the host of civil issues that can affect RAF personnel.
The RAF offers more than just a job; it offers an active, exciting lifestyle. Our primary mission is to defend our country, but we’re also called upon for countless other tasks, from Search and Rescue missions across the UK to supporting disaster relief operations all over the world.
You’ll have the chance to take part in adventurous training such as rock climbing, skiing and mountain biking. You’ll meet new people from all over the world and you’ll make friends you’ll keep for life.
You’ll be joining a high-tech, modern organisation with excellent opportunities for accelerated promotion, training and worldwide travel. We also offer six weeks’ paid holiday a year, subsidised food and accommodation, free medical and dental care, and free gym and sports facilities access. Starting pay for Legal Officers is at least £36,000 after training.
