Control the world's most modern aircraft
‘We can be sent anywhere in the world, we work with fast jets, multi-engine aircraft and helicopters – It’s never ever the same, you learn to expect the unexpected.’
The RAF is seeking intelligent, ambitious graduates to join our worldwide team.
Air Traffic Control Officers work in a high-pressure environment where safety is paramount. You’ll ensure that our aircraft depart and arrive safely, and that air bases are fully maintained and prepared for emergencies. You’ll also liaise with civilian air authorities to ensure safe travel for any aircraft using their airspace. It’s a position of huge responsibility so the ability to remain calm under pressure is a must.
We’ll train you to manage people and use some of the world’s most modern radar and communications equipment. As you develop your skills, you’ll move on to face new challenges and promotion opportunities – both in the UK and overseas.
The RAF offers more than just a job; it offers an active, exciting lifestyle. Our primary mission is to defend our country, but we’re also called upon for countless other tasks, from Search and Rescue missions across the UK to supporting disaster relief operations all over the world.
You’ll have the chance to take part in adventurous training such as rock climbing, skiing and mountain biking. You’ll meet new people from all over the world and you’ll make friends you’ll keep for life.
You’ll be joining a high-tech, modern organisation with excellent opportunities for accelerated promotion, training and worldwide travel. We also offer six weeks’ paid holiday a year, subsidised food and accommodation, free medical and dental care, and free gym and sports facilities access. Starting pay for Air Traffic Control Officers is at least £28,000 after training
