Quality Leader / Graduate Quality Leader

Our client is the UK division of one of the largest joinery suppliers in the world. Their manufacturing facility in Darton, Barnsley is the biggest of its type in Europe.
The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the Quality inspection team whilst continuing to develop the Quality Systems to support the migration of the Quality Management System from a reactive to preventative culture.
You will be responsible for Product and Material quality, leading the implementation of FSC and PEFC accreditation with specific focus on QMS development through best practice. You will be strongly focused on supporting the development of a customer focused and responsive team that delivers a high quality product on time to meet the customer’s demands. You will support waste reduction through engagement on reduction of non–conformance and process capability improvement focusing on rout cause and trend identification. This role will ensure maximum profitability through a ‘hands on’ approach and a ‘challenge and involve’ culture achieved by a coaching style of leadership.
As Quality Leader you will engage and motivate a team in an environment where production is orientated around skilled assembly. Providing clear direction to ensure Quality targets are met whilst continually reviewing working practices, utilization of resources and technical innovations to improve efficiencies. Demonstrable evidence of improvements you have made within manufacturing / production environment will be required.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of modern lean manufacturing techniques, and preferably experience of use lean sigma tools and techniques. You will be an effective communicator with excellent project management; organisational and analytical skill. You must be proactive and flexible in approach supporting and actively participating in continuous improvement and encourage best practice.
Our client currently requires an ambitious and dynamic graduate with one to two years experience within a Blue-chip/FMCG Company exposed to manufacturing excellence.
