A leading international academic publisher, based in Oxfordshire, is looking to recruit a Publishing Editor (Electronic) to work within their Editorial Department. The Publishing Editor will support the Managing Editor in implementing systems for electronic submissions and peer review on journals across the company.

Key responsibilities include: liaising with all internal and external contacts to agree roll-out schedule; assisting in the implementation and training of agreed journals; preparing papers for meetings, collating and analysing; taking and preparing minutes where necessary and following up meetings to ensure matters relating to minutes are dealt with efficiently and quickly; collating material for brochures and advertisements; liaising with marketing on conference attendance, and the progress of brochures and mailings; attending editorial board meetings and conferences as required.

The successful candidate will be a graduate will have one to two years' experience within an administrative or publishing environment, a familiarity with the academic environment and peer review systems would be an advantage.

The ability to prioritise and adapt to varying workloads is essential, as is the ability to work to deadlines and cope under pressure.

Good organisational skills together with strong written and verbal communication skills would be an advantage, as would the ability to multi-task and to adapt to new technology.
