£16,000-18,000 with significant further development
Our client is one of the UK’s leading wine importers, now supplying over 45 million bottles each year to leading multiple retailers and high street specialists. Modern, dynamic and leaders in their field, they have an excellent opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic and highly committed individual to join their production team in this key role.
This is a newly structured role within the Company and provides an exciting opportunity for the right individual to excel and make a real difference to their winemaking and QA operation. As well as vital technical administrative support, they quickly expect the successful candidate to become the UK-based linchpin for their international production development and supplier improvement plan.
The successful candidate will be solely responsible for the administration of the company’s product specifications and consumer complaints process, new vintage approval system, product monitoring and incident management. This will be the sole administrative resource for the production team, having prime responsibility for the technical information management. This requires excellent organisational skills, an alert attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with their internal teams, their key customers and their international suppliers. The administration side of the role is highly autonomous and you will be given full responsibility once you have completed your training and induction programme.
The ideal candidate, having quickly grasped the administrative responsibilities, will progress the role to providing wider support to their Technical Manager and Winemaking Director. They will assign follow-up project work to you for winemaking and quality assurance issues at their suppliers. As a clear, effective communicator, with a confident and assertive manner, you will need to liaise with suppliers to ensure that deadlines are met and agreements adhered to. You will become a pivotal part of their small production team working to tight deadlines.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is required. A science background or qualification would be a bonus but definitely not a barrier for the right candidate, as full training will be provided. Proficiency in a European language would also be beneficial but, again, not essential. Above all, someone with a thirst to learn with high energy and a flexible attitude towards work will excel in this position – personality matters to them as much as experience.
