Dyer Environmental Controls and the University of Salford are seeking an ambitious innovator to manage and complete the remaining 15 months of a 27 month exciting KTP project; developing actuating mechanisms for ventilation systems using renewable energy sources.
The aim of this challenging project is for you to embed a new product development and innovation process using the development of a self powered actuating mechanism to power ventilation systems as a pilot. Based at Dyer’s offices in Stockport, Cheshire, you will manage the project supported by the experienced staff from both Dyer and this forward-thinking University.
The impact of the KTP in implementing an NPD Process within the company will enable you to establish an R&D Department and drive Dyer forward to become a market leader, designing and developing both bespoke and standard solutions and bringing new products to market. You will have an opportunity to have a major impact in defining the future of Dyer and this can provide you with potential accelerated senior management opportunities within Dyer following the successful completion of this ambitious project.
In addition to this exciting opportunity, you will also have the opportunity to complete a Diploma in Management and there is a substantial budget for additional training and Higher degree registration.
You should have a professional degree and have experience in Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics. As the KTP Associate, your involvement in this project will gain you a deeper understanding of commercial project management, supplier relations and marketing strategies within an SME environment. In addition to considerable concept design / new product development experience, working in a small company, in close contact with other skills and under commercial pressure you will gain experience of being a key player within a business together with an awareness of strategic and operational decision making processes. Your accomplished team-player skills as well as your ability to work independently will be thoroughly tested. You will have responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, which will develop your project management, time management and communication skills.
