With 14 offices throughout the UK their vision is to become the foremost professional advisor in the UK in their chosen markets.
Consequently they are looking to appoint a post-graduate Internal Auditor to work predominantly with the FE, HE, Health and Housing sectors in and around the Home Counties; Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and West Essex.
Reporting to a Senior Auditor/Audit Manager, the main purpose of your role is to perform routine audits, appropriate to your level of experience and training, and to assist Senior Auditors with more complex audits when needed.
Using our Milton Keynes or London office as a base, you will be undertaking identified internal audit assignments in accordance with the companyÆs procedure manual.
Your daily activities will include: -
ÀTo carry out a thorough briefing on the area to be audited by way of studying organisation charts, files, levels of activity, desk instructions, manuals and codes etc.
ÀTo assist in the production of audit briefing sheets under the guidance of a Senior Auditor/Audit Manger.
ÀFact-Finding. To include interviewing of operational and management staff; examination and interpretation of statute, regulations and procedures to ensure operational conformity; ascertaining and recording of systems; identification and evaluation of controls.
ÀTesting. Determining in consultation either with Senior Auditors or Audit Manager the scope and extent of testing. Undertaking testing and evaluating the significance of results.
ÀReporting to clientÆs managers/officers on the findings of the audit, highlighting weaknesses and significant loss or error and making recommendations.
ÀPreparing draft audit reports
ÀParticipation in discussion of audit reports with client management
ÀStudy for CCAB or IIA qualification
ÀAny other duties as required by the Senior Auditor or Audit Manager
The successful applicant will have graduated during 2005, educated to degree level minimum 2:2. Strong interpersonal skills, an enquiring mind and the highest standards of integrity are essential pre-requisites. Ideally, although not essential, you will also have some working experience of Accountancy Practice.
It is essential you are a self-motivated individual, who can work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
The role involves travelling to our clientÆs sites; therefore, you will need a full UK driving license and access to your own transport (a mileage allowance will be paid to you for using your own vehicle). It is essential that you be situated in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, West Essex or the surrounding areas, as the contracts you will be expected to work on are within this geographical area.
