Role Description

NB Communication in Shetland is recruiting for a recent graduate for a 12 month role in Marketing, Sales and Account Management.  The role will involve improving sales processes and procedures, developing a marketing plan, development of an account management and project management strategy, processes and documentation.  This will enable the business to pursue an effective targeted market in order to gain new business as well as improving communication with current customers.

As part of the TalentScotland Graduate Placement Programme in the Highlands and Islands, the candidate will benefit from support from a team within Highlands and Islands Enterprise and also access training focussed on employability and business skills, including a five day residential course.

This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • A degree in marketing, business or similar.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible and “muck in” as required by a small business.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Strong IT skills, especially in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high quality standards for completion of work.
  • Ability to see the ‘big picture’ and remain aware of overall goals.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and capable of communicating in a relaxed yet professional manner with current and potential customers.
  • Self-motivated / driven.
  • Disciplined.
  • Creative.
  • Capable of showing initiative.
  • Determined.
  • Passionate about doing excellent work and about helping customers succeed.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge about website accessibility, usability, conversion rate optimisation, search engine marketing and other related online topics.
  • Copywriting skills.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of website design, digital marketing and similar.
  • Ability to use graphic design software packages.
  • Experience in a web design / digital marketing agency environment.
  • Experience of undertaking marketing, sales, account management and project management work.
  • Access to a broad network of contacts.
