Based at Stoats HQ in Edinburgh, the 12 month Marketing placement is a unique and exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate to gain experience and responsibility across all of our Marketing functions with particular focus on our digital and social media platforms.

We’re a small, entrepreneurial food company growing at a mega quick pace so from day 1 of your placement you’ll be given heaps of responsibility and opportunity to implement your ideas.

Within the placement, you’ll find yourself:

  • Assisting with the Stoats Social Marketing Strategy. Creating fun and interesting content for our social media pages and shiny new website, helping to build an online community of Stoats fans. So you’ll need to have plenty of experience creating and editing high-quality photos, videos and copy.
  • Taking “porridge to the people” at events and trade shows all over the UK, chatting to people about all things porridge and Stoats. This includes taking our ‘Porridge Bar’ out on the road to let the public try our tasty oat products.
  • Supporting Jess, our Marketing Manager, with: the launch of innovative new product ranges, campaigns and promotions, Marketing strategy and planning, PR campaigns, tactical Marketing.
  • Researching what’s hot (and not) in the food and retail world, keeping an eye on our competitors and coming up with ideas for new products and campaigns. For this you’ll need to have a proven track record of turning market research findings into creative ideas and recommendations for implementation.
  • Supporting our sales and sampling “porridge to the people” team by helping with the production of point of sale material, leaflets and flyers to boost the impact of promotions and campaigns we’re running. Therefore having experience using graphic/illustrator packages such as Adobe to create simple leaflets and posters would be nice.

 

Skills/Experience

  • A passion for all things food, marketing, retail and design
  • A social-media whizz! You’re that person who’s always stuck to their smart phone checking out the latest app or social media site
  • Top-notch interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal/presentation
  • It goes without saying but an enthusiasm for Stoats, our range of wonderful of oat products, our fantastic customers, our mission of becoming the UK’s favourite porridge company and our fresh new brand look
  • Flexibility and the ability to work on a billion projects at once without stressing
  • Confidence, motivation and the initiative to ‘get stuck in’ and learn as you go.
  • Some experience using graphic/illustrator packages, such as Adobe, to create simple leaflets and posters would be nice.

    Qualifications

    Graduate from a minimum undergraduate Creative or Business/Marketing/Communications/PR degree.
