Established in 1992, Essentials for Health is a leading school of Sports Massage and Massage with its’ training venue in central London and offices in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. It is a small but highly successful company where each member of the team is a vital part of the overall vision, direction and purpose of the school. In the period 2010-2011 Essentials for Health will undergo a major expansion. The planned expansion includes:

  • The refinement of the marketing of our e-learning anatomy and physiology course to become the market leader in the UK and beyond
  • Purchase of our own training venue in central London
  • Full courses and new e-courses
  • Development of our market for business to business sales
  • Launch of our Therapists Business Launchpad (working title) Our websites www.essentialsforhealth.co.uk www.anatomyandphysiologyonline.com www.stressinwork.com  

Key skills required:

We need someone who thrives on being busy, is able to stay calm under pressure and is able to fulfil the requirements of the job in a consistent, organised and efficient manner with: excellent PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, internet research, social media, webinars and databases, good typing speeds, excellent copy writing and desktop publishing skills. 

You will also need:

  • A sound understanding of marketing, strong presentation skills and an excellent customer care and telephone manner. 
  • Experience of working directly with the public
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Flexible in their approach to work and able to think on feet
  • Self-motivated with project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in an organised way under pressure
  • Good written and spoken command of the English language
  • Good communicator genuinely interested in people
  • Creative mind that generates idea for improvements and developments and that problem solves easily. 
  • Trustworthy and a team player
  • Ability to uphold our high standards of service Initiative & flair with good attention to detail and maintaining continuity
  • Enthusiasm for and belief in complementary therapies  

Desirable Requirements:  A good working knowledge of the industry and experience of working in the marketing arena.  

Responsibilities: Marketing General  

  • Research and advise on marketing opportunities including magazines, website listings, for new e-courses, our venue and Launchpad 
  • Conduct competitor analysis
  • Data cleanse of our customer database and harvesting of email addresses 
  • Propose Key words
  • Write copy for web-pages and liaise with designer on web design and flyer design
  • Create newsletter templates
  • Manage our social media and blogs
  • Create RSS feeds
  • Project manage our exhibition promotional materials for industry expo in October 10 Marketing Campaign Sports Massage
  • Project manage the making of a testimonials film with our sports students
  • Get testimonials film onto u-tube
  • Create some postcards for grads to do sports
  • Organise a sports open day
  • Get our course accepted by SMA Research
  • Conduct research on behalf of the Managing Director
  • Assist at open days and exhibitions
  • Provide office cover in the absence of administration staff including answering the phone and dealing with urgent incoming and outgoing communication    

Working Hours:

35 hours per week, duration 11 weeks. Week 12 comprises professional training of a 2 day induction and a 3 day final training event  

Who we are

The current team consists of the owner and Managing Director Gill Tree, the Administration Manager, the Operations Manager, the Administrator and 15 part-time trainers. When necessary we get temporary staff to manage extra work.
