Job Summary

Norscot Joinery Ltd based in Bower, Wick, is recruiting for a graduate for a 12 month marketing and communications role. The role will involve developing and implementing a detailed marketing and sales strategy.

Job Description

To date, most of Norscot’s business has been generated in the Highlands. The company now seeks to expand its business to the rest of Scotland with Aberdeenshire and Perthshire having been identified as initial target areas.

Currently Norscot have relatively few trade partners with whom they do business with on a regular basis. With success, this project will increase the number of trade partners. And, with the aid of partner support initiatives and promotions generate greater loyalty. The successful graduate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Develop / refine marketing plan and sales strategy.
• Identify potential trade partners for both windows/doors and house kits.
• Create and distribute digital promotional material for partnering concept.
• Write and distribute press releases to announce appointment of partners.
• Formulate an ongoing communications plan to maintain partner interest.
• Devise sales campaigns to boost our own and partner businesses.
• Write and distribute press releases to announce partner successes.
• Grow existing social media channels through posting our and partner news.
• Create handover document/staff manual for all of the above.

The role will be based near Wick, Caithness and will involve some travel.

This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.


• Communication (written and spoken)
• IT skills including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of all forms of marketing including social media
• Driving Licence
• Reliable and honest
• Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of construction sector
• Knowledge of print media sector


As part of this TalentScotland Graduate Placement Programme, the candidate will benefit from support from a team within Highlands and Islands Enterprise and also access a four day residential course training focussed on employability and business skills.
