Our client is a leading European energy group and the 5th largest supplier of gas in the world today, with a presence in 33 countries, serving 15 million customers. Our client is active in every aspect of the gas industry, from exploration and production, trading and transmission, to services, distribution and supply. They entered the UK market in 1999 and the electricity field in 2002.

As a company they focus purely on large industrial and commercial business customers and have built a market share of almost 10% to date. They work with customers ensuring they are informed of the often complex issues surrounding the energy industry.

Our client is looking to recruit a Market Analyst to join their Purchasing and Operations Department in a permanent role.

The Role:

Reporting to the Portfolio Strategy Team Leader, this is an analytical role developing new and improved techniques for their gas business. You will be responsible for the following:

Operation and development of analytical models to assist in strategy decisions with regard to the purchase and sale of gas

Leading in the delivery of specific analytical projects

Development of management information reports

Communications with our colleagues in Paris (France)

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Excellent numeric and IT skills, must be fluent in common MS packages

An inquisitive, analytical mind with good problem solving skills

A self-starter with drive and initiative

Active team player with strong communication skills

A good degree in a numerate discipline is essential

Previous modelling and energy pricing experience would be advantageous.
