MARKET ANALYST - Wellingborough

Starting Salary £21.000 - £28,000 dependent on experience


IMS Research provides market research and information services to major multinational companies in the electronics sector. We are a dynamic and expanding company with customers located around the world. Our continued success means that we have a number of vacancies within our project groups for Market Analysts.


We require additional analysts to join our Power & Energy, and Automotive & Semiconductor Groups. Individuals should have a good honours degree in the following.


Either:      Electronic/electrical /mechanical engineering or a related science/engineering based discipline, with a desire to apply their technical knowledge in a commercial environment 

Or:           A business/marketing/commercial based discipline with a good ability to grasp technical concepts


The Role

As a Market Analyst at IMS Research you will be part of a small team of ‘industry experts’.  Analysts work closely with customers at every stage of the project and build constructive partnerships to ensure that all their needs are met. The role involves:

  • Project management of market research reports with responsibility for the entire process, including identification of needs, planning, research, analysis, client presentations and sales/marketing. 

  • Business development, including design of marketing strategies and generation of sales opportunities.

  • Provision of consultancy services to multinational clients around the world.

  • The role will involve significant international travel and candidates must have a current passport and full driving license.

  • Responsibility for the development of an “area of expertise” in a highly technical marketplace.

Your Profile

The successful applicant will require the following skills and experience:

  • Highly numerate and comfortable manipulating and presenting statistics in a variety of formats.

  • Excellence verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills with experience of producing spreadsheets, graphs and tables.

  • Creative, inquisitive and persistent and enjoy solving analytical problems

  • Happy to working independently and as part of a team.

  • Good project management skills.

The Training 

New recruits are trained alongside an experienced analyst, before taking responsibility for their own projects. In parallel to this, you will participate in a series of in-house courses run by a mix of external consultants and internal personnel.
