Job summary

Make it social has an exciting opportunity for a graduate Software/website programmer/engineer to work closely with the team to further develop its new socially integrated patented software and expand its website. This is a 12 month placement with a possibility of converting to a permanent.

Project Description

The project will involve the on-going growth and expansion of the recently built software and website. With the software currently built as a stage 1, the graduate will be working on advancing the software as much as possible towards stage 3 which includes an intuitive bookmarklet concept similar to that of Pinterest. As well as this, the successful applicant will be required to adapt the software for any large new customers as well as deal with any maintenance issues.

The graduate will be expected to work towards:

·         Further enhanced and intuitive software

·         New bookmarklet completed

·         A number of happy customers

·         Achieving Stage 3 of product development which includes the development of at least 3 large additional features

Role Description

The graduate will be required to maintain and expand the current capabilities of the socially integrated software and website using Python and PHP. He or she will be required to think outside the box and will be heavily involved in the progression of the software and overall, the business.

On a day to day basis the graduate will be given a great deal of freedom to complete tasks to the best of his or her ability and to the deadline.

Tasks will consist of adding a recommendation feature, automating the data capture for specific websites, developing a live price feed and integrating with API’s (Application Programming Interface), development of an API and development of a Bookmarklet.


As the company grows there is the opportunity to take advantage of any further training opportunities as well as to even be part of or manage a wider development team.

The software has true global potential to be the next big social platform and we are looking to take on individuals who are passionate about being part of something exciting.

Skills / Experience


·         Knowledge of Python and PHP to a basic level with ability to learn quickly

·         Strong Team working skills, especially as part of a small team

·         Ability to work independently, using own initiative

·         Good communication skills

·         Ability to be flexible and to work extra hours when required - We work hard and play hard


·         Advanced knowledge of Python and PHP

·         Passionate about growing this start up business into what it really could be.


·         Degree in computing/software design/programming


Training exposure potential within the company that has built our stage 1 concept.
