Job summary

Mainetti Group has a great opportunity for a HR graduate, working closely with the UK Human Resources Manager, to design and implement a performance management system which will be effective at all levels within the organisation.  This placement is for 6-9 months with a strong possibility of converting to a permanent role.

Job Description

Project Description

Performance management project:

This is the initial part of the company’s engagement programme. Currently we do not measure engagement but ultimately we would expect to be able to do so. A performance management system allows the conversations on this subject to begin.

Initial phase – identify what already exists and investigate what processes are already in use.

Second phase - design a system to include:

-          Updated role profiles/ job descriptions for all positions

-          Annual appraisal system

-          Performance management for poor performers

-          Performance management for exceptional performers (talent management)

Third phase – training programme:

-          Training needs / skills gap analysis for managers

-          Training for managers in the appropriate use of a capability procedure

-          Training for managers in the appropriate use of the disciplinary procedure

-          Training for employees and managers in order to ensure effectiveness

It is envisaged that managers and staff will be involved in all phases of designing and implementing the system.

This position will normally be based in Jedburgh, however, the candidate should ideally be able to drive as there will be a requirement to liaise with staff at our Jedburgh and Greenfield (North Wales) sites.

Role Description

Detailed description of the roles and responsibilities the graduate will undertake - What tasks and activities will the graduate carry out to achieve the project outcomes?

The graduate will investigate the current performance management/ appraisal system and through liaison with department heads, design/ identify a suitable system (or systems) for use within the different parts of the company. The graduate may find assistance with this part of the project from HR colleagues within the Mainetti Group.

Through discussion with managers and other staff, the graduate will implement a talent management programme to identify and encourage the best performers within the organisation.

All role profiles will have to be updated, the graduate will co-ordinate this.

Managers will require training in training needs/ skills gap analysis which the graduate will either deliver or design in conjunction with an external trainer.
