The Maersk Company Limited employs a large workforce in a diverse range of onshore and offshore activities. We are looking for graduates who are highly motivated with drive, resilience, and good leadership potential to join our graduate programme: Maersk International Shipping Education (MISE).
MISE is a two-year programme of both practical work experience and theoretical study. It is an international programme employing young people locally all over the world, developed by the AP Moller-Maersk Group.
During the programme you will work in three positions in various parts of the business in the UK (customer services, marketing, supply chain management, finance, IT, documentation, operations, shippingà.).
In addition to experience gained on the job, you will follow a comprehensive study programme. It is vital that you are committed and willing to invest the necessary time and effort into studying at the same time as doing a full-time job.
Modular training is the backbone of the MISE programme. Trainees from all over the world will meet at four two-week courses at the MISE Academy in Copenhagen. The modules will take the form of lectures and class room tuition in a number of Shipping and Business related subjects. These include Maritime Law, Chartering, Liner Trade, Logistics, Maritime Technology, Sales, Marketing, Economics, and Investment. Trainees are required to prepare for modules by completing assignments, and conducting case studies. A part of the preparation takes the form of internet-based group work with training from other parts of the world. Moreover, the UK trainees are required to learn a foreign language and participate in local events relevant to the business.
Upon successful completion of the MISE programme, you will have the opportunity to expatriate and work abroad in other parts of the AP Moller-Maersk Group. We will support continued education and development throughout your career û the MISE programme is aimed at developing managers for the future.
Applicants should have or expect to achieve a 2:1 or a 2:2 with minimum 280 UCAS points; be born after 1 August 1981 and have a valid work and residence permit for the UK.
