Covpress are seeking logistics graduates or engineers with an interest in logistics to start an exciting career.  Our employees share a common goal to ensure we are "best in class" in terms of quality, delivery and price competitiveness and be the first choice for our customers.  We are looking for graduates with a passion for engineering and the drive to progress through the company.

This position will include the following responsibilities:

· Involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) for all components which will include liaison with the customer, and Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Purchasing departments internally.

· To investigate best solutions for packaging of parts to our Customer base both in the UK and abroad. This will mean close communication with both Manufacturing and the respective Customer.

· To provide Logistics generated documentation to the manufacturing departments such as packing specifications and Kan- Ban generation

 KEY TASKS

· Generation of manufacturing documents

· Involvement in Customer and Supplier packaging requirements

· Co-ordination of activities for new packaging introduction such as compilation of timing plans

· Progress/monitoring of packaging being manufactured at our Suppliers in line with overall timing plan

· Involvement in supplying Customers first off build requirements such as TT and PP builds.

· Be a supporting and effective member of the Logistics team.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

· Enthusiasm, drive and great communication skills are essential.

· A degree in  logistics, mechanical engineering, manufacturing  automotive engineering or materials with a minimum 2:2 grade

· Confident and proactive approach to work

· Problem solving skills

· Precise and accurate approach to documentation

· Ability to work in a team

· Show a passion for delivering solutions within the automotive and wider engineering field

· A Full UK driving license

 

The following skills would be advantageous:

· Fluency in French or Chinese

· Familiarity with CAD packages

· Knowledge of automotive standards

· A placement/ previous work experience in logistics or automotive engineering
