Its Low Carbon Energy Development Centre supports the practical application of low carbon energy technologies, with particular emphasis on fuel cell technology. It is committed to turning developing low carbon energy technologies into a commercial reality through collaborative and demonstration projects.

 

They are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Support Technician to provide general technical support to the Technology Manager, in the delivery of the laboratory work programme.

 

You will be responsible for providing practical development support to the target laboratory user base, ensuring the laboratory is available to provide technical support to users and that all equipment is maintained and serviced in accordance with the relevant schedules. You will also be required to liase with external users on a daily basis to ensure that all commissioned work meets their requirements and timescales.

 

Candidates must come from a practical scientific background and will have a Bsc or equivalent in Science, Chemistry or Electronics. You should be able to work independently and have the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally. An understanding of safety hazards of any chemicals to be used for processing is an essential requirement for this role.
