Our client is a U.K. wide resource to stimulate and drive innovation within various industry sectors. Working with Global commercial partners it is committed to increasing novel technology adoption within the process sector.

 

They are currently seeking to recruit a person to work as part of the R&D team on a number of exciting projects relating to the field of organic electronics. Reporting to the Electronic Device Process Scientist, the successful candidate will have the necessary skills and experience to:

 

·         Assist in the development of OTFT backplanes including developing new and novel ideas in device fabrication to control / enhance the properties of OTFT backplanes

·         Assist in the generation of new ideas in general organic electronics, (organic transistors, organic photovoltaics and solid state lighting for example), for development of IP and scientific publications as appropriate

·         To write up all results, conclusions and recommendations in a technical report using the appropriate IT based monitoring and archive system to enable the storage, retrieval and use of the data, including the support of IPR value development.

·         To present the progress of these developments within the company and to associates in order to support and promote the development of this technology.

 

It is desirable that candidates be a graduate who can demonstrate a proven track record of innovation in the field of plastic electronics and may have a masters or a doctoral degree or similar in a suitable discipline (chemistry, physics, material science, electronic engineering). A good understanding of organic based electronic devices, e.g. organic transistors, is preferable.

 

The candidate should possess the ability to communicate well, both in written form and verbally and be able to work effectively as part of a team. You should be able to develop solutions to problems associated with device fabrication using your own initiative, in addition to direction and advice from others, while also being able to work to tight project deadlines.
