Hatstand require a junior Futures Application Support Analyst to work with one of our leading clients, a Major European Investment Bank. This will form part of Hatstand’s 2 year graduate programme. Graduates who have exposure to working in an IT Trading Support Environment would suit this requirement.

The successful candidate will provide trade support and technology management for our client’s global support model in the Futures Trading space. The platform couples technology and business specialists together in order to provide solutions to internal customer requests while leveraging development resources in problem resolution and business stability. The candidate should have a basic understanding of application release management including testing, release procedures, infrastructures and user testing.


The support team is an integral part of a high energy environment.  As a result, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and build a solid understanding of the business context of the applications, and at times get involved in requirements gathering alongside the business analysts and project managers. 


      • Provide a mission critical response to daily trading issues through investigation and problem solving techniques.
      • Liaison between development and business teams in order to improve the quality of the system and its applications.
      • Incorporate personal knowledge in the development of support tools and efficiencies that will be used by the team for daily or specific events.
      • Analyze impact of proposed solutions while interacting with the business to raise awareness of current technology deployments.
      • Effectively communicate and escalate issues between the business and team members in order to ensure proper handling of issues is provided.



      • Exposure to working in an IT Trading Support Environment, preferably with some familiarity of the majority of the following technologies: Trading Technologies, GL Clearvision, OBMS, Rolfe & Nolan
      • Good SQL, UNIX and database experience are all critical to this role.
      • Outstanding academic background with a 2.1 or above in an IT related degree from a well recognized and reputable university.
      • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
      • Analytical mindset with strong problem solving skills
      • Experience of working to tight timelines, whilst still keeping calm and positive.
      • Flexibility is also needed as you may need to work varied hours to meet the business needs.
      • Ability to manage projects and drive change
      • Constantly looking for efficiencies
      • Some experience of implementing monitoring methods and alerts
      • Willingness to constantly learn dynamic work flows of an ever-changing technology and trading environment.
      • Scripting experience in Linux/Unix environment - Perl, etc.
      • The ability to build relationships across multiple platforms throughout the business
      • Enthusiastic and keen to develop personal technical skill set


Contract: 2 years (as part of Hatstand’s graduate programme)
