Junior Developer – Barclays Capital/FDM Group
FDM Group is currently seeking a limited number of individuals to undertake approximately 12 weeks technical training based on site at the Royal Mint (London) and work with Barclays Capital, one of the world’s largest investment banks.
You will undertake development technology training. This will be COBOL and Tandem with associated skills, with a range of wholesale and international banking instruments; FX, MM, Derivatives, Synthetics, Debt, Equities, Loans, and Facilities. In addition, after approximately 18 months within the role, you will receive additional training in Java technologies, allowing you to work across other areas of the business.
You will be working with the GBS Development Team within Barclays in London: The GTSS suite of applications consists of 35 applications of which GBS is just one. The majority of the applications are web and server based Java applications with SQL Server databases.
Candidates must possess an IT or numerical science related degree, and the drive to work in IT Development and Investment Banking. In addition you must have excellent communication skills, time management and be able to work equally well individually or within a team.
