Our client provides a comprehensive asset data collection, analysis and information management service for the environmental and infrastructure sectors. The management and employees of the company have been providing an internationally accredited portfolio of services for over 20 years. They are firmly established as experts in their field of operations and are able to present a wealth of experience and technical capability to their clients to provide a complete and integrated solution to issues within the environmental and infrastructure industry.

An exciting vacancy has arisen within the company for an IT Support Specialist, which will also include working with their Sister company. Working within a small IT team, and reporting to the IT Manager, you will be required to undertake systems development and provide support for staff working on all projects. You will monitor the progress of application development projects in conjunction with the IT Manager and then update Management and Supervisory staff on a monthly basis. Within the role you will provide or arrange appropriate application software training to staff as required and produce documented office procedures for application development projects. You must maintain an awareness of all company projects and advise on any new technologies and developments and assist in the development of company policies and procedures relating to new applications and working practices. This will involve appropriate testing and documentation for software packages.

Candidates for this role must have demonstrable experience in Software Development and be educated to degree / HND level or equivalent in Software Engineering or a subject with a Programming content. They are looking for someone who can demonstrate knowledge of some of the following:

  • ASP, JSP, PHP, Javascript
  • Java
  • VBA, VB6,
  • SQL
  • IIS 6.0
  • Sage MMS, Sage MMS Document Manager
  • Microsoft Access and general IT skills

You must have good interpersonal and problem solving skills and be a flexible, driven individual who can work alone or as part of a team.
