Insurance and Risk Management Graduate - Aon Risk Services

The economy as it is today could not survive without insurance. It is one of the only financial markets that is still growing. And it is full of complexity.

Insurance and Reinsurance are about spreading risk so that in the event of catastrophe, the economy can keep going and people can rebuild their lives. According to many experts global warming is already upon us and the world is seeing its effects. In recent years we have seen Hurricane Katrina devastate New Orleans, extreme flooding hit the UK, Europe and Asia, severe earthquakes in India and China, snowstorms, volcanoes, tornadoes and tsunami.

Political unrest has also featured strongly in the past decade. The threat of terrorism, kidnap and military coups can all affect the operations of global construction companies, oil producers, pipelines and refineries, nuclear power plants and airlines. Piracy off the coast of Africa and in the Indian Ocean affects shipping companies and import/export companies (as well as all of the other business down the chain). And in space, how do we quantify the risk to satellites and the communications industry of extreme solar flares or a polarisation of the earth’s magnetic field?

Aon help people, businesses and governments answer these questions and consequently protect themselves against such financially extreme events.

During the graduate programme you'll experience a broad understanding of the area of business you're joining. This could be in Aon Risk Services or Reinsurance. You'll also receive the advice and guidance of a management mentor, on-the-job training and a series of core modules designed to assist your study towards a relevant professional qualification such as the Diploma of Insurance Practice (DIP). By the end of the scheme, you'll have made the transition from a bright new graduate to an up and coming insurance or consulting professional, and be a step closer to achieving your aspirations.

Who should apply?

You'll need to be educated to degree level, with a 2:1 or above or equivalent qualification. Importantly, you'll have the drive, resilience and dedication to pursue professional qualifications and to progress your career at pace.
