Logo: ASEASE PLC and the University of Salford are seeking an ambitious individual to manage an exciting KTP project.  The aim of this challenging project is to review, design and implement information security policy, procedures, standards and technology. Based at ASE PLC offices in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester, you will manage the project supported by the experienced staff from ASE PLC and this forward-thinking University.

ASE PLC provides management information systems for financial reporting and business planning to the automotive industry for use by manufacturers and franchises. Their services are provided by a number of software applications that have been developed by ASE and sold under licence.  You will be working with a portfolio of prestigious client accounts that include Ferrari , Porsche and Aston Martin worldwide.

ASE has significantly grown its IT personnel in the last two years; however a need has been identified for increased in-house competence in Information Security management and to facilitate the strategic reliance on technology to offer new services and developments that comply with international legislations and other regulatory requirements.  This KTP will therefore assist ASE in gaining a major strategic advance over its competitors in this key area of IT, through the adoption of “best practice” in IS security.

The purpose of the KTP will be to provide ASE with a review, design and implementation of information security policy, procedures, standards and technology, leading to ISO 27001 compliance to ensure structured long-term growth, profitability and increases in employment. As a KTP Associate you will have the opportunity to work at a strategic level within the organisation with the support of the Academic team from the University of Salford. In addition to this exciting opportunity, you will also complete a Diploma in Management and have a substantial budget for additional training and Higher degree registration.

You should have a professional degree in Information Systems/Computing/IT or Business Information Systems.  Ideally an MSc in Information Security or Information Security Management.   Working in a commercial environment, with the need to bring the project to completion in a commercially viable manner, will expose you to practical commercial assessments and decisions.  You will also have responsibility for the successful delivery of the project which will develop you project management, time management and communication skills.  Your accomplished team-player skills as well as your ability to work independently will also be thoroughly tested.
