As well as being a membership organisation with over 70,000 members, it provides training and development programmes for organisations in all sectors. The company publishes a range of materials, both academic and practical, to help managers gain professional qualifications and continue to increase their skills and knowledge throughout their careers.

They currently have an excellent opportunity for an Information Researcher to join the team in Corby. The purpose of this role will be to provide library, information and research services on management, and to recommend service and product developments in accordance with the agreed customer service standards.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering information services to members, handling enquiries on all aspects of management, carrying out desk research, literature searches and document delivery. You will be expected to develop management related information services and products by keeping up to date with current management theory and practice through information scanning, selecting materials for collection development and maintaining the information database.

It will be your duty to contribute to the intellectual property holdings by initiating, researching, compiling, drafting, writing, editing and proofing documents for publication and packaging for distribution. You will also play a key role in the promotion of the Institute’s services to members and staff through in-house presentations and occasional external visits when required.

The successful candidate will hold a degree, postgraduate qualification or equivalent in Information / Library studies or similar and will ideally have some experience of working in an information service environment. You must have the ability to evaluate and manage information resources and a willingness to learn new skills whilst undertaking a variety of projects. Our client is looking for an excellent communicator with a friendly approach and strong written and spoken customer service skills. It is also essential that you are computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and that you are able to manage your own workload, prioritising tasks and meeting set deadlines.
