Human Resources Management Trainee

The HR Accelerate Programme
The HR Management Training Programme comprises of 3 placements:
- 2 x depot placements of approximately 6 months each
- Head Office placement of approximately 9 months
Depot placements are aimed at giving you the skills to deal with Employee Relations issues ranging from disciplinaries and grievances to working with the Trade Union. You will also be involved in site recruitment, training and development and any other relevant HR activities at the depots. This is an ideal opportunity to gain the management skills you require on completion of the training programme.
The Head Office placement is structured to provide you with experience in each of the HR functions and involves working on projects to develop and support the business. This placement will involve working closely with the other departments and presents an ideal opportunity to network and meet people throughout the business.
Gist strongly encourages you to obtain your CIPD qualification. To aid your continuing development and to provide you with the essential skills for becoming a successful HR professional you will attend a number of training courses. In addition, Gist will support your attendance at relevant external training courses and seminars to ensure that you are up-to-date with employment law and HR industry news.

- have some experience working in an HR environement
- have obtained or be willing to obtain the CIPD qualification

- enjoy high levels of responsibility
Once you have completed your training you will become an HR Officer and will be based at one of our depots. You will be responsible for managing and developing the HR function on-site, providing the necessary support to managers and employees alike. We would expect our trainees to progress quickly to HR Manager upon completion of the CIPD qualification and after gaining appropriate experience as an HR Officer.
