Highland Print Studio, an open access visual arts studio in Inverness, is recruiting for a recent graduate for a marketing and tourism role. The 9 month project will involve developing a marketing strategy and social media profile to increase the international profile of the studio and enable them to develop an international market for their products.
The Studio offers an unusually attractive environment for an artists’ studio and is already attracting people from further afield onto its classes because of this.
Currently people find the studio by chance. The studio would like to rectify this by undertaking some research and development to enable the studio to be promoted as a cultural destination and improve its earned income in terms of course fees, sales and studio fees.
Tasks will also involve:
• Identifying key constituencies for studio products within domestic tourist and international tourist market
• Identifying appropriate communications networks for promotion of products initially focussing on internet and social media
• Evaluating best value options
• Developing Highland Print Studio (HPS) profile on tourism and relevant cultural networks
• Developing a national and international press contacts and database
• Research and development of peer sector database; international studios, visual arts communications networks
• Developing HPS profile among national and international peer sector
• Developing relationships with other relevant companies involved in tourist market to promote HPS activities and products
• Producing final marketing plan
• Legacy and handover
This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund, additional funding for this placement has been secured from Creative Scotland.
