Duties and Responsibilities

Due to expansion, we are currently seeking to recruit an office-based Service Engineer / Technical Support / Help Desk Technician with engineering experience - to strengthen our existing Technical Department. With an established background in technical support or as a service engineer, the successful candidate will play a critical role within the business, remotely supporting and maintaining on-going projects. This is an exciting and varied role and key responsibilities include:

  • Answering customer calls/e-mails.
  • Using all the tools available (Eprom programmer, numerical controls, PC, etc.) to solve the more complex problems (hard disk programming, board diagnostics, etc.)
  • Recording calls in the Help Desk CRM system.
  • Keeping the Service Request updated in the Oracle Help Desk system.
  • Interfacing with our Pesaro headquarters.
  • Updating technical documentation.
  • Supporting the technicians' schedule when preparing interventions.
  • Supporting the spare parts department for parts identification.
  • Supporting the spare parts department in the approval of orders under warranty.

The Individual

An ideal candidate for this role will have 5 years’ experience (field and/or office based), and will have qualifications in an engineering discipline. Experience would be beneficial in the glass or stone industry, but other sectors will be considered.

You’ll be a confident professional, comfortable with coordinating and supporting technical projects, dealing with multiple levels of stakeholders and will have a clear mind for progression.

Required skills and qualifications also extend to:

  • The ability to read and interpret electrical / pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Previous experience in electrical (Board level) / mechanical fault-finding and the installation and maintenance of CNC routing or milling machining centres, or any glass processing equipment.
  • Electrical bias with a working knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Ability to prioritise workload whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal English with the ability to promote high standards of professional behaviour.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
  • Excellent ICT skills.
