Established in 1972, Apollo Chemicals has grown to become one of the largest privately owned UK manufacturers of adhesives and liquid coatings. We supply our products worldwide and across a range of industrial, construction and end-user markets. Join our team as a Health and Safety Assistant and have real impact working with the Quality, Manufacturing and Technical teams at our Head Office in Tamworth.


As Health and Safety Assistant you will be training and working at our Head Office supporting the Compliance, Quality, Technical and Manufacturing teams.

Creating and maintaining all:

  • Health & Safety guidelines for the business
  • Risk assessments for manufacturing processes
  • Procedures for the company integrated management system (9001, 14001).
  • CLP and REACH implementation

Carrying out different tasks such as:

  • Creating / Writing documentation and guidelines
  • Risk Assessments
  • Safety Briefings
  • Product label development
  • Aspect and impact audits
  • Emergency response
  • Customer support

As the Health and Safety Advisor your main responsibilities will include but not limit to:

  • Carrying out site safety audits with written reports
  • Promote a positive Safety culture to the whole of the business
  • Respond to accident and incidents and ensure and ensure accident prevention plans are put in place
  • Assist the QUENSH team within an operational role

You will be working closely with the Compliance Manager to design safety and environment controls. As you develop you will likely play a key role in our afternoon shift (2pm until 10pm).


  • Hold the NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum.
  • Ideally hold a Degree in a science background or have equivalent knowledge.
  • Have experience in manufacturing ideally within the chemical industry.
  • Be able and comfortable to engage at all levels.
