Group Environmental Co-ordinator / Sustainability Coordinator
Cambridgeshire or Shropshire (consideration given to others)
£23’000-£25’000 + car + bonus
Our client is one of the UK’s leading potato companies, handling in excess of 600,000 tonnes of potatoes annually through our Packing and Processing facilities - and employing in excess of 750 people. They have a number of locations throughout the UK focused on our dedicated grower base and also our own substantial potato growing operations. Our customers include major retailers as well as food processors and foodservice businesses.
They are currently looking to recruit an Environmental Co-ordinator to implement and co-ordinate Greenvale’s environmental procedures in line with the group’s Environmental Policy.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will have a strong working knowledge of environmental issues and legislation and be able to relate this, in a practical way, to Greenvale’s processes. Educated to degree level - or equivalent - in an environmental, sustainability or related discipline - you will have ideally worked in a similar role previously and through this, be able to identify environmental opportunities that have tangible commercial impact. Whilst you will have no direct reports initially, you must have sufficient confidence to both sell your concepts and influence others – both internally and externally – to help achieve change momentum.
Knowledge of the Carbon and Water Reduction Commitment protocols and ISO 14001/BS8555 is highly desirable and preference will be given to candidates who have this, combined with experience of agriculture and/or manufacturing.
Our client is flexible in terms of working location as you will be required to travel substantially with overnight stays, therefore must possess a full UK driving licence and the ability/desire to do so. In return for your hard work you will benefit from a competitive remuneration package and progression opportunities within a nationally recognised company.
