Graduate Trainee Opportunities x2 – Development & Housing
£21,000 per annum plus benefits
Our client is a regional housing association operating principally in Hertfordshire and east Buckinghamshire and provides a wide range of housing and support services for families and single people including people with special needs.
Their bespoke graduate programme give graduates the opportunity to develop their potential to the full in a rapidly expanding and progressive organisation within the Housing and Support Services sector.
They currently have exciting opportunities for two graduates to join them, one in their Housing Department and one in their Development Department. Whilst taking part in the graduate programme you will enjoy an incredibly varied learning experience. From day one, you will be involved in projects, gaining practical hands-on experience with all the accountability and responsibility associated with them. Your progress and performance will be measured against real objectives and you will be provided with all the support that is required. On completion of the programme you should have the necessary skills to work as a Development or Housing Officer.
During your time on the graduate programme you will have exposure to a number of areas within the organisation, this will give you the opportunity to further develop your skills and give you a valuable insight to the business.
In this hands-on role, you will work closely with an existing Development Officer in order to understand all aspects of their role. You will identify and evaluate new development opportunities, develop the relevant skills to negotiate purchases of land and property and understand housing development funding processes. You will also assist in the relevant partnering and traditional tendering procedures related to design, build and construction management and understand and manage the relevant defect processes.
Working under supervision, you will, amongst other things, be required to visit residents in their homes, allocate properties and enforce tenancy and / or lease provisions. You will also deal with arrears payment agreements, anti-social behaviour and organise and run resident meetings.
Successful candidates will hold a 2:1 degree as a minimum and possess good communication and project management skills. You will need to have a full driving license along with your own transport. Results orientated, you will constantly strive to achieve set goals and you will be well organised and self motivated. You must have good report writing skills and have the ability to plan and prioritise your workload effectively.
