Graduate Trainee – Finance / Accountancy

Our client is a growing regional housing association providing a wide range of housing & support services for families and single people including people with special needs from over 40 locations in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious finance graduate to join them on a 2 year training programme. In this busy and varied role you will undertake a range of activities in order to gain a full understanding of the treasury and business planning functions and their roles within the Association. Reporting to and working closely with our Director of Finance Services you will gain an understanding of treasury strategy and eventually take the lead on its implementation, you will learn how to manage our loan portfolio and once developed you will oversee the process for managing the associations cash flow forecasting and monitoring.

You will need to impress our client with your desire to learn and your ability to take the lead and make your career ambitions for the future a reality, as on completion of the Programme you will have all the necessary skills and experience to equip you for a future role within the Association.

It is expected that you hold a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Accountancy or Finance or related subject, you would be expected to demonstrate your ability in a number of financial technical areas as well as analysis and report writing. You will be computer literate and have a high standard of verbal and written communication skills. You will be a motivated self starter who is keen to seek out new opportunities for learning and progression. You should be able to identify the goals of any project and take a structured, methodical approach to achieving them while identifying priorities and setting deadlines.
