Graduate Trainee – Development / Graduate Scheme / Housing / Public Sector

Our client is a regional housing association operating principally in Hertfordshire and East Buckinghamshire providing a wide range of housing and support services for families and single people including people with special needs.
Their bespoke graduate scheme will give you the opportunity to develop your potential to the full in a rapidly expanding and progressive organisation within the Housing & Support Services sector.
Throughout the 2-year training programme, they aim to develop your skills and knowledge to ultimately progress into the role of Development Officer, providing new and refurbished affordable homes. Their graduate scheme is geared to help you understand the Development Officer’s role and will include:
Ø Appraising new sites for the construction of affordable homes
Ø Completing financial viabilities on new housing schemes
Ø Preparing project budgets and monitoring expenditure and income against budget,
Ø Working with internal and external stakeholders, including a range of consultants,
Ø Project managing housing schemes whilst they are being built on site,
Ø Finalizing final accounts.
During your time on the graduate placement you will have some exposure to other parts of the business ideally to include Housing and Care & Supported Housing. This should give you the opportunity to further develop your skills. This will give you the valuable insight into the complexity of the Association and the many different aspects of work.
Highly organised and self motivated, applicants will need to be of graduate calibre in any discipline and have excellent communication and numerical skills as well as a strong attention to detail. You must be an extremely personable individual, as you will be working with a number of different internal departments, external consultants and a wide variety of clients.
