WHO WE WANT

There is no single characteristic that we’re looking for in a graduate. However, we believe you will flourish on our programme if you enjoy learning through hands-on practical experience, in a customer focused environment, where no two days are the same.

You will need to have a strong work ethic, enjoy working as part of a team, and have the ability to lead and build a team through regular communication and great interpersonal skills.  You will show consistency throughout your education achieving a minimum of a 2:1 classification and three ‘B’s at A’ Level.

Key skills required for this role include
- High level of competence in using Excel and Access
- Experience with VBA ( Visual Basic for Applications)
- Degree in IT or Information Systems, maths or Engineering
- Excellent attention to detail and error checking
- Ability to dissect a problem, a desire to prove or disprove a theory by creating a model and using data.

Wolseley UK managers are customer-oriented and determined to provide prompt and efficient service. They are quick to take responsibility for themselves and their team and aren’t afraid to seize ownership of a project or initiative and to see it through to its successful conclusion. They like to meet people and have the potential to succeed.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

At the start of the programme, you will learn about the business and our customers by working as part of a branch team. You will then move on to structured placements within our distribution centres, Transport and Supply Chain teams. You will work towards taking on a role in Supply Chain within 12 months.

The role of a supply chain analyst crosses many different functions and projects within our business. It requires an analytical and inquiring mind to solve problems through the extensive use of data.

THE PROGRAMME

Our Management Training programme is 18 months long and will provide you with real practical experience from day one. Through hands-on interactive placements, regular formal training sessions, working with our managers, and completing business projects, you’ll learn the foundations of our business and develop the skills to take you further in the organisation.

You’ll be an important member of our team right from the start and you’ll be encouraged to roll-up your sleeves, make decisions, use your initiative and put your newly acquired skills into real-time, real-life practise.
