Job summary

The Interactive Design Institute is looking for a graduate interested in Finance to develop and implement new systems and processes for student loan finance and fee payment. The successful candidate will become part of a small, dedicated team in an expanding company within one of the UK's most rapidly growing sectors: online education. This is a 12 month placement, with potential for extension, based in Musselburgh.

Job Description

IDI have recently been approved as a private provider, so that students attending our courses are able to access student loan finance. This requires the development and implementation of process systems to deal with all aspects of student loan finance and fee payment; systems which are crucial to our continued growth.

The graduate will be responsible for setting these up and will work with the existing team and be trained as necessary.

The role will include:

•        Integrating the Student Loan Company systems and reporting processes into the company’s financial infrastructure and creating  a customised data base to manage all student finance records

•        Liaising with student finance bodies around the UK to ensure the efficient processing of student loan applications and resolving issues relating to individuals applications and over all process

•        Building and developing a working relationship with the Student Finance England Liaison Manager.

•        Providing regular feedback and liaising with our allocated manger to build a comprehensive understanding of policy relating to distance learning tuition fee loan funding

•        Managing the application of relevant designation of courses for student loan funding. Liaising with SLC designation team and the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills

•        Inputting data and recording all payments in internal and external databases

•        Working alongside the company accountant to reconcile all fee payment accounts on a monthly basis

•        Liaising with the marketing and web teams to ensure accurate information on funding options is available to both current and future students.

Skills / Experience

Essential

The successful applicant will have:

•        A strong understanding of and/or experience in book keeping skills

•        A good telephone manner

•        Good team working skills

•        Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable

•        Some experience of SAGE would be beneficial

Qualifications

The successful applicant will be educated to a minimum of degree level, preferably in a discipline related to financial systems.
