Project Description

Ekwus.net Limited is a start-up software engineering company specialising in verticals of the IP CCTV market and are now looking to employ a graduate software engineer. The company is a spin-out from successful IP CCTV company Codestuff Limited which itself was a spin-out from IndigoVision Plc and as such has a very good pedigree and is well respected within the industry.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design and development of IP video streaming applications.

Role Description

The graduate will develop video management systems to assist customers with training and development, alongside a number of other projects. This software will view, record and play back videos and create CCTV applications.

Ekwus.net considers its developments to be at the forefront of the industry and utilises the latest developer technologies within them. Modern Agile methodologies are central to the development process as are application and software design patterns.

The graduate will receive one-to-one mentoring and on the job training to develop an understanding of the following key technologies, over the duration of the placement: .NET Framework 4.5, SignalR, Mobile Development, ASP.NET MVC4, jQuery, IP Networking, WPF MVVM, MSSQL, Silverlight, Razor, Entity Framework, Client/Server.

The .NET Framework is heavily utilised within the company and the latest concepts in the framework are embraced. The candidate will be expected to develop applications based around WPF and MVC4.

Skills/Experience

Knowledge and/or experience of C#

Ideal

The candidate will have at least a basic understanding of some of the following areas (in order of importance):

  • Object Orientated Design
  • Networking
  • Agile Development Lifecycle
  • Video Streaming
  • Windows or Linux Dev. Tools
  • Project Management
  • Database Systems
  • Design Patterns

 

Qualifications

Degree level qualification in software engineering or related.
