Job summary

Burn Stewart Distillers Ltd, a fully integrated Scotch whisky producer and brand owner based in East Kilbride are looking for a graduate software developer to join their IT team.  This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to join a small development team which impacts every area of the business.

Job Description

The Graduate Software Developer will report to the Senior Developer.  The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a number of projects over a fixed term 12 month period. For example, the graduate will be writing code for manufacturing reports in order to be able to monitor quality, throughput, profit margins and customer returns.

It is expected that on completion of the work period a number of software solutions and applications will have been designed, developed, tested and deployed in support of our successful and growing business model.

Skills / Experience

Burn Stewart are looking for a graduate with programming skills.

Essential

The successful candidate will have some knowledge and/or experience in at least one of the following:

•        SQL Server or Oracle

•        C#

•        VB6 or VB.Net

Ideal

Some knowledge and/or experience in the following would also be beneficial:

•        ASP or ASP.Net

•        CSS

•        HTML or JavaScript

•        It is expected that the successful candidate will have excellent communications skills and will be able to communicate with all levels of employee and management up to and including company director level.

Qualifications

•        The successful candidate is expected to be degree qualified in an IT-related subject.
