We have a 6 month opportunity for a Graduate Software Developer, based in Stirling, to work as part of the team developing new Location Centre features.

Location Centre is offered as a web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) product by Forth Valley GIS. The platform is based on a number of leading edge Open Source components.
We have an ambitious Location Centre product roadmap and have significant developments and business improvements planned for the Location Centre platform as well as specific customers in the coming months.
Planned outputs will be delivery of new Location Centre features and complete solutions to specific customers. Success will be measured by the delivery of these new features and ultimately growing Location Centre revenue and market share.
Role Description
Working as part of our Location Centre development team, the Graduate Software Developer will work on software and web development projects, with responsibility for the design, development, testing and deployment of new Location Centre features, using ASP.NET, .NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL, PostGIS and Oracle technologies.
Additional responsibilities will include contributing to the technical specification and design of the Location Centre platform and information architecture, resolving technical support issues for customers and producing technical and user documentation.
Skills / Experience
Essential
· Knowledge and/or experience of developing applications using at least three of the following technologies: ASP.NET, .NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL, PostGIS, Oracle
· Strong analysis and design skills
· Excellent communication skills
· A practical ‘can-do’ attitude
Ideal
· Additional web/software development experience including mobile
· Knowledge and/or experience in digital mapping/GIS
· Knowledge and/or experience of Open Source technologies
Qualifications
Essential
· Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
Ideal
· An Honours (2:1 or above) or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
