Enventi Ltd is looking for an Engineering graduate to undertake project engineering activities as part of its effort to develop cost reduction solutions for the offshore wind industry. This is a 12 month placement with a possibility of converting to a permanent role.

At Enventi, we have several design initiatives (some active, some dormant) aimed at reducing the cost of energy from offshore wind. Each project requires the following activities (to some degree):

  • Research to support the idea or concept
  • Development of the concept or idea, from conceptual to detailed engineering, to realisation of prototype or scaled model
  • Testing and development
  • Industrialisation and introduction to market place.

The successful candidate will be required to participate to (and in some cases lead):

  • the development of various products or methodologies
  • the ongoing research into offshore wind in support of our longer-term objective of developing a radically different approach to the construction of offshore wind farms.

Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):

  • Project planning, scheduling and co-ordinating
  • Executing allocated engineering activities
  • Input to budgeting and cost monitoring
  • Project status reporting
  • Product evaluation from an economic perspective throughout the development phase.

  • Basic understanding of wind energy
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Good team working and commuication skills

  • Knowledge and/or experience of engineering design software such as Mathcad, Autocad, etc preferred
  • It would be helpful, but not essential for the successful candidate to posess an understanding of basic economics.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (other engineering-based degrees may be considered).

As part of the TalentScotland Graduate Placement Programme, the candidate will benefit from support from the TSGPP team and may have access to a residential Leadership and Business skills training course. You can find more information on our placement training pages.
