Job summary
Enventi Ltd is looking for an Engineering graduate to undertake project engineering activities as part of its effort to develop cost reduction solutions for the offshore wind industry. This is a 12 month placement with a possibility of converting to a permanent role.
Job Description
At Enventi, we have several design initiatives (some active, some dormant) aimed at reducing the cost of energy from offshore wind. Each project requires the following activities (to some degree): i) Research to support the idea or concept, ii) Development of the concept or idea, from conceptual to detailed engineering, to realisation of prototype or scaled model, iii) Testing and development and iv) industrialisation and introduction to market place.
The successful candidate will be required to participate to (and in some cases lead): i) the development of various products or methodologies and, ii) the ongoing research into offshore wind in support of our longer-term objective of developing a radically different approach to the construction of offshore wind farms. Responsibilities to include (but not limited to): i) Project planning, scheduling and co-ordinating, ii) Executing allocated engineering activities, iii) Input to budgeting and cost monitoring, iv) Project status reporting and, v) Product evaluation from an economic perspective throughout the development phase.
Skills / Experience
The ability to work independently and use your initiative, together with a rudimentary understanding of wind energy.
Knowledge and/or experience of engineering design software such as Mathcad, Autocad, etc preferred.
It would be helpful, but not essential for the successful candidate to possess an understanding of basic economics.
Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering (other engineering-based degrees may be considered).
